Weird logging problem

I have 3 sites on my server. x2 Fuel and x1 3rd party off-the-shelf PHP/cgi-bin site.

I have the logging for the Fuel sites set to 1 - to show errors.

On the Fuel 1.4.13 site, the logging seems to catch errors from the 3rd party site. My other site does not display this problem. That one is on Fuel 1.4.10

Have there been any changes to Fuel's logging between the two versions? I'm guessing it's a CI problem since the logging comes from there but I've not managed to find any reports from elsewhere with this symptom...

Any insights?
