Removing index.php completely

Hi guys,

Just wanting to know if there is a way to remove the index.php from the url as I am importing a site already built. If i remove it from the config in fuel then it works on the front end but then doesn't let me edit any pages in the backend. Can i remove it from both? What would be the best way to go about this?

Any help would be brilliant!

You'll need mod_rewrite enabled on the your Apache server and a suitable htaccess file in the same location as index.php
Fuel needs index.php to work but you can hide it in the site URLs
