Assets - Access Forbidden

I am logged in as Admin and when i click on Assets, it gives me error "Access forbidden! You don't have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Error 403". .htaccess file has been modified to RewriteBase /FUEL-CMS-master. Please let me know why cant i access assets.

    Access rights on the assets file structure. They should be read/write.

    it worked by changing the Options -Indexes to Options +Indexes in .htaccess file located in FUEL folder.

    However the Interface looks different. There is no upload button available. I can see only the folders listed when assets is clicked. Can you please let me know how can I get the upload button and interface corrected?

    Are you logged in as admin? If not, do you have a permission of "Assets" under the permissions area and is it assigned to your user?
