Changing Navigation Groups

So when using fuel_nav or the Menu class how do you change which navigation group is used? By default it's using the 'main' nav group, but we have a footer nav group and I can't find anything that talks about changing groups. I read about the 'parent_id' property and being able to make a nav out of it's child items, but nothing about actually changing which group is used.

So I've found by using 'group_id' => 2 or 'group_id' => 'footer' I was able to change which group is used. This isn't mentioned anywhere, but in the http://docs.getfuelcms.com/libraries/fuel_navigation_model; I didn't even find it in the model first, I noticed the XHR url in the Nav module and tried it. I think this would be good to mention on these pages:
