Data attributes for link window /modal in admin

Is it difficult to add data attributes for links in the WYSIWYG modal? This would be great for creating Bootstrap behaviour on the front end - eg triggering modals.

    That would require some modification to the core files in particular the jquery.markitup.set.js file and the CKEditor fuel/modules/fuel/assets/js/editors/fuellink/plugin.js file as well as the fuel/modules/fuel/controllers/pages.php file under the "select" method.
