Installing feature/1.4_dev

edited February 2016 in Installation
Hi,

I have a new project on the horizon and would like to use the latest version of fuel and CI.

I've downloaded fuel 1.4. I guess you need to run "composer install" first? Is fuel dependent on "vfs://stream"?

When I try to access fuel in the browser I get a notice and a warning:

Notice: Use of undefined constant ENVIRONMENT - assumed 'ENVIRONMENT' in /Users/david/Sites/fuel_1.4/index.php on line 133

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /Users/david/Sites/fuel_1.4/index.php:133) in /Users/david/Sites/fuel_1.4/index.php on line 154

message: The application environment is not set correctly.

Is this an issue with my install?

Regards

David

    Sorted:

    I've edited the environments.php config and added , 'local.*' to the development array. my local development domain is http://local.xxxx

    I've worked through the rest of the setup, tried to access fuel and have a few errors:

    Had to change the $config['sess_save_path'] in application/config/config.php to:

    $config['sess_save_path'] = APPPATH . '/cache/';

    Is it worth updating FUEL_VERSION?
  • edited 12:29PM
    I have uncommented the $config['settings'] section at the bottom of application/config/MY_fuel.php and get the following error:

    A PHP Error was encountered

    Severity: Notice

    Message: Undefined property: Fuel::$settings

    Filename: libraries/Fuel_advanced_module.php

    Line Number: 504

    Managed to hack this by commenting out line 501 in Fuel_advanced_module.php
    but not sure what I've broken by doing that.

    However, while fuel admin doesn't error, the site name doesn't update via the settings module

    The Fuel::$settings error is a bug. I've pushed a fix for that to the develop branch and the 1.4_dev branch.

    Line 383 in the config.php file

    I was having a hard time with this, but got it to work by removing the spaces:
    APPATH[space].[space]'/cache';

    $config['sess_save_path'] = APPPATH.'cache/';

    Nevermind, now I can't refresh the website cache via fuel cms.
