Are the tutorials from 2010/2011 still relevant?

This article and the ones after it look to be a great tutorial, but I am unsure how it relates to the newer Fuel 1.4.3? I'm new to Fuel, decent with CodeIgniter, and am hoping to grasp this CMS as fast as possible.

Thanks for any input! Also, if anyone else knows of a newer tutorial, I'd love to hear about it!

    Those should still be somewhat applicable but you may run into some issues. For more recent documentation I'd focus on the Modules and General section of the documentation:
