Customizing the Admin UI

I'm looking for a way to add a new panel to the admin Edit views. I have an "album" object that i have images linked to it via a foreign key. i would like to pull in and show an album's photos in the the album's edit view in the admin. it would just be a link to the image's edit interface, and a thumbnail of it. Any ideas?

That sounds like you may want to add something in your model's form_fields method to return the code for that albums photos. You could create a custom field type that does this:
